Default my plants in neighbours lawns

About six years after planting a 'clumping' bamboo, it suddenly decided to
run out in all directions. I didn't really wake up to the full significance
of this for a couple of years until the harm was done.

We now have lots of little shoots springing up in the neighbours lawns on
both sides.

As you can imagine I'm well in the dog house. Whats the best way to deal
with the tiny shoots coming up in the lawns with the *minimum* of
inconvenience for the neighbours please? Thanks.

Yep, you're toast. About all you can do without inconveniencing the
neighbours is to tunnel underneath at night, and pull the shoots back down
through to your side.

Near our allotment is a house with bamboo which has escaped from the garden,
and is coming up through the pavement, it's now halfway to the road.

I was given a verbal kicking on here a while ago for advising caution wrt so
called clump forming bamboos.

If you check US web site many of the "clump formers" are listed as notorious
runners in the southern states. My educated guess is that recent hot summers
have triggered the running tendency, mine also went walkabout after about 6
years and from two clumps I took out 35m length of runner in an enclosed
5*4m courtyard.

I found glyphosate very effective against stray bits and will be using it
shortly against a stray bit that has appeared this year - about 3years after
removal of the rest and the first bit that has reappeared!
