Chris does most from seed, but some of his bigger clumps he splits, for
seed you need the smoke impregnated blotting paper to soak in water then
water in

Er well that's seed Sacha I was wondering about this restio I now have
in a pot? Can I divide it if it's a clump forming plant?

I can put the seed above my broken toaster, that should give it enough
smoke but I would like to try propagation, it is my wont you know

I did a lot of Callistemon once on top of the wood burning stove in the
living room, guess though there won't be enough smoke for that?
Thanks Charlie, where do you get smoke impregnated blotting paper from
exactly?

Ray sets fire to pine needles in an old tin to start Romneya coulteri off. I
wonder if that would work with Restio?

In case Charlie's post doesn't show up with you, he says that larger clumps
can be split but that the man at Churchtown does most of his from seed.

Um, what does he do with the romneyi seeds then? On top of, inside or
next to the tin?

Not that I know of but it looks as if I saw his reply before you did so I
wanted to be sure you got the info.

Very high tech so I hope you're up to it..........he uses an old splatter

fume away below. ;-)

Wonder if I could combine it with cooking lunch at the weekend?
