Default Mountfield mower servicing.

I have a Mountfield petrol rotary mower. About 4 or 5 years old. It
starts but needs servicing. In the West Yks area (Bradford,
Huddersfield) I can only find 2 major service departments.and it may
be I will use one of them
However in the day and age surely there are smaller servive engineers,
perhaps self employed or a small firm looking for this type of work.
Any recommendations in this area please
Peter

Get in touch with your local Chamber of Commerce and ask them if they have a
Small Business Section. I was on the committee of our local Chamber and we
would produce a book each year of such people.

Have you googled (or better, Scroogled) on "Mountfield, service, West
Yorks" and variations on that?

One word of caution. Last summer my new Mountfield suddenly lost
power. I found a small local specialist service engineer who was a
charming fellow. I took the mower to him. Later in the day he rang me
to say he had fixed the problem easily but since there was a £30
minimum charge would I like him to do any other work on my mower while
it was in the shop!

Suggest you try 'Agricultural Machinery' in the Yellow pages. I've always
found them to be more reasonably priced, probably because they operate
out of converted barns in the countryside and so have lower overheads
than 'in town'.
