Whilst hoeing the weeds today I wondered if clover should be hoed up or
left to grow amongst the vegetables? I seem to remember that it puts
nitrogen into the soil - but does it do so to the immediate benefit of
surrounding plants? So regarding vegetables it grows amongst is it a
bonus or a pest?

Thanks Janet. At the moment I'm not sure which variety it is. I just
recognise it by the leaves. I'll let it grow and see which (or both)
varieties it is. It is all self set, like the weeds, from who knows
where. It tends to appear in difficult to reach/weed places, like in the
middle of a clump of chives.
