Bougainvillea
Just moved to Cyprus and the price of indoor and outdoor plants is
astronomical. Bougainvillea is a common and gorgeous plant (a nice size 2ft plant is 100Euros which is ridiculous) and I read it is a devil to propagate, especially when you do not own a plant to graft. Any tips for successful propagation? -- Baal I smile and go off waving (Amiably) - for that's my way http://www.helden.org.uk |

Any tips for successful propagation? No problem. Visit the local hotel gardens (best at night) with a poly bag and a pair of secateurs and take tip cuttings about 5" long. Pot about 5 cuttings around the edge of a 3" pot and leave for about 3 months. With any luck about 50% will have rooted and away you go. Often a good idea to seek out the best colours in the daylight! Phil (who did this on Crete) |

Any tips for successful propagation? I have a pot with 4 plants taken from cuttings that my dad took from his plant earlier this year. The new ones even went pink! He won't have done anything special, just cut a bit, put it in soil, then bagged the pot until it showed signs of growth! |
