Went to plant our chillies that we grow out on the allotment, Thai Dragon
and Inferno, today and to my amazement/annoyance can't find any seeds in my
box and then to make matters worse on T & M's site against Thai Dragon it
says "Sold out". Ahhhhh!
Found some red ones in our freezer so will defrost, remove the seeds, and
try planting those, what chance do you think we have of getting any to
germinate?
The other thing is they will probably be crosses between the two anyway.

I've got some dried ones which I grew I don't know how many years ago.
I've just started using them to make a spicy soup so will need some more
soon. I wonder if mine will germinate.....

I've grown chillies from very old seed before so provided they have been
kept dry they should be OK.

Don't they freeze the contents of the "millennium" seed banks? (Surely
they can't freeze coconuts, though..?)

Yes they do keep Millenium seed banks at well below freezing but
Humidity is regulated

I'm sure you *CAN* freeze coconuts, but whether they'd germinate
afterwards is another thing.

Peppers being hot climate plants I shouldn't think the seeds would germinate
after being frozen. But I will wait to be corrected and watch with
interest.

ones with the one million Scoville units rating?

Chilli is good to sprinkle on bird food to keep squirrels away, them being
mammals and all.

No, but Scotch bonnets are hot enough to burn your skin if you prepare
them without kitchen gloves.
