Rabbit proof fence
The e-mail came this afternoon. The contractor has signified his
intention of having the rabbit proof fencing erected around the allotment site within three weeks. At last! I can't afford to erect my own fence around my plot, and I tried to secure it with plastic netting. The rabbits demonstrated the ease with which they can chew their way through plastic netting and wiped out my runner beans, my peas and two rows of summer cabbage. Well, hopefully that will be the end of it. I will soon be able to plant out again with the possible harvesting of vegetables in the not too distant future and the planting of the bottom section of my plot with fruit this autumn. Now bring on some rain. Peter -- He spoke with a certain what-is-it in his voice, and I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled. P.G. Wodehouse 1881 -1975 |
