The roads were ankle deep in leaves dropping off of the trees. Although in other areas, leaves on the ground were there none. Must be Newport Gwent, they cant find their way around on their own (Duck for cover and hastily appologises to Newport.) Here in Powys, I've not seen a road sweeper for ages, they only do the rural roads when someone complains I think. It is Newport Gwent indeedy. Our bins are collected on Mondays and the road-sweeper vans do their bit on Tuesday mornings -- (¯`·. ®óñ© © ²°¹° .·´¯) |

I think that this is about the 'normal' time for tomatoes. Our local gardening club annual show is on 21st August, and I remember every year being in a panic because I only have 1 or 2 tomatoes ripe. So starting to pick before the end of the July is, IMHO, quite 'good'. It depends on the variety - I have had Gardeners' Delight ripe for a few weeks in the greenhouse and a few days outside but Favoryt inside is still green. (Worth waiting for though) Not a single ripe'un on my GD, though (so far). |
