This might have been vaguely on topic if the poppy was a real poppy.
Only joking.
Joking aside, IMO everybody who has a conscience should remember why we are
all still free, and wear that poppy with pride.

In a few years time nobody will remember 11/11. because its not in our
lifetime. Winston and all the lost heroes of 2 world wars will no doubt be
in the history lessons when we and a couple more generations have passed.

A pin would have been a bit too risky!
Indeed.

Well apart from missing an 11, it is the 11th hour of the 11day of the
11th month,
Popy day isn't just about the 2 World wars, it also remembers all
those who have given their lives in all the conflicts that we have
been involved in.
I was glad to see the dancers with their poppies, as with the news
readers, presenters etc wearing them, some a bit early but then it
serves as a reminder to viewers to get theirs.
Just be thankfull that Flanders fields were filled with poppies and
not thistles.
David
I agree, we have the remember what that poppy symbolizes, the more people wearing poppies, the merrier. It should be promoted on tv because soon nobody will be wearing them.

Yes indeed we will.
I went up to the Field of remembrance Service yesterday. Phenomenal
security but it was absolutely packed with many young as well as old
people including serving soldiers remembering their friends.
When the service was over there were a lot of public waiting to go
through the gardens to view the crosses so it does affect a wide cross
section of society.
The crosses are in sections so you can find a person or put a cross in
the section most relevant, such as Royal Engineers, Army Air Corps War
Widows, every Regiment and most Theatres of war.

The traffic did actually come to a stop for the two minute silence
though I'm not sure what it's going to be like tomorrow on the Saturday
March at the cenotaph as it's also the lord mayor's parade at the same
time!

To start, sort through your children's closest to find any clothesthat they are no longer wearing. You can use these clothes to sell to theresale shop for extra money, or allow your children to swap the clothes fortheir own selections on their own. B [email protected] Lawns 0 22-04-2008 06:52 PM
