Default Taunton Flower Show 2011

The competitive schedule for Taunton Flower Show has been published on Taunton Flower Show :: The best in the west.
This year we have revised the horticultural classes extensively. The most notable changes a

1. A complete revamp of the dahlia classes. Taunton Flower Show will now award the National Dahlia Society’s silver medal for the best dahlia exhibit.
2. A brand new Taunton Flower Show Master Gardener class where an individual gardener can exhibit a range of vegetables, flowers and fruit. This is a prestigious class and we have a new cup to award to the winner.
3. A reintroduced vegetable championship class.

These classes are open to all and provide an excellent way to showcase your talents. We off more than £4000 in prize money and 50 cups and trophies. We would welcome your participation!

There's lots of little shows around David, it just all depends on
whether people can be encouraged to enter .

Unfortunately our current Chairman has decided to have a spring show
(blinking daffodils again by the hundreds!) and then an August show so
no dahlias, roses are over. Sweet peas going off, etc etc.

It's like flogging a dead horse sometimes trying to get people to enter
though those who do, generally enjoy themselves. I don't know why the
RHS doesn't put out a comprehensive list of Flower shows, it would be
nice to go to some that aren't too far away.
It used to be listed in the Gardening News but haven't seen the list for
some time.

Went to the Auricula one, once, in Datchet i think, it was fascinating
for the amount t of skill and knowledge there and some wonderful plants
for sale but it was a specialised show.
