Can anyone identify this?
I noticed this wee plant poking up through over grown grass today. Can anyone identify it?
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w...8_121902-1.jpg I'm not actually sure where it's grown from as it's got a long brown wood branch through the long grass and underneath an other bush, it's maybe 60cm long! It's a fighter what ever it is. Leaves look similar to an other plant we have in the garden but it's the opposite side. If it's not a weed can anything been done to move it or cut off the green area in hope it'll root? |

If you leave it in situ, you should be able to propagate it in early
June from softwood cuttings. Search on "propagating euonymus" and you should find loads of web pages telling you how to do it. One word of caution - euonymus sap is a serious irritant. Wear gloves when cutting (when propagating, latex disposable gloves are a boon) and make sure that you don't get any sap anywhere near your eyes. Cheers, Jake ======================================= Urgling happily from the dryer end of Swansea Bay.- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - First, Don't go chopping around it, follow the stem back to find out where it's growing from, often a branch growing along the ground will shoot up, but have no roots anywhere near the growth. I've never had problems with sap, but many types of sap cause problems for some people, always be carefull if you don't know your reaction you may be sensitive. Do you realy want to grow Euonymous? Its a good hedging plant but the green form has nothing else realy going for it. David @ the wet end of Swansea Bay |

Thanks guys. I googled it and the images make it look like the same species it's growing under from. Well the actual bush is silver in colour and doesn't have as thick leaves.
Thought it might have been a new species to the garden. |
