Talking Hello a newbie here

Hi everyone just wanted to introduce myself, I'm from Ipswich Suffolk and have been growing my own vegetables for four years. I became the owner of hens last year, and I have a shiny new greenhouse to play in too. I love squelching around in my wellies, talking to the hens and walking my dogs. I'm also a keen cook and and an aspiring writer. Nice to meet you all and look forward to chatting and maybe answer a few and ask a lot of questions!

IME hens don't have owners, they have 'staff'.

I think that's cats!

Hens definitely have owners: we pinch their eggs, and then wring their
necks when the time is right.

You might do, I don't

Ok then, someone does it on your behalf - or do you keep hens purely as
pets?

Gardeners tend to be a bit forthright at times!! ;-) Go ahead and
join in and you'll get loads of opinions. Only some may lead to verbal
punch-ups! Welcome to urg!

Welcome also from over the border in Norfolk. It's been a bit squelchy
here today, not to mention cold! Back to winter socks and welly weather
ever since we had the hosepipe ban begin.

Don't go running off before everyone gets a chance to read your first
post, sj. Sometimes it can take days before people get to see it. We
don't all sit glued to the Interwebs all day you know! Weeds to weed,
seeds to sow and plants to plant and all that. Not to mention Life
getting in the way - sometimes it's months before I get around to
reading what the good people around here have been discussing.
Newsgroups are like that, people pop in and out at different times.

So what are you planning to grow in the greenhouse then?

Hi and welcome. You're obviously into gardening in a big way. I'm
envious of your new greenhouse. I'd love one (and a shed, too) but my
garden is quite small, and it's hard to decide which bit of ground to
give up in order to have outbuildings.

I'm not sure how you manage to squelch in reportedly dry East Anglia,
but I'm glad you can since you enjoy it:~).

It is (perhaps) a bit off topic, but what kind of writing do you do?
It's ages since I dabbled, except for the occasional newsletter, but
it's always been an interest of mine.
