Me neither. I guess what spam gets through depends on your service
provider. The only spam I see is the occasional one about Islam.

Not seeing anything Indeed, I rarely get SPAM at all now (not even the
Islamic stuff). News.individual.net filters out a lot at it's end and
a well-honed set of newsreader kill file rules takes care of
everything else, including the IOW contingent.

So yes, there is a way of getting rid of the SPAM - simply use a
proper Usenet provider and newsreader. This will also get round the
fairly frequent logjams/breakdowns and other problems you experience
with Google Groups.

At the end of the day you pays your money (or you doesn't) and you
takes your choice. Unfortunately simples fact.

Cheers, Jake

Get a proper newsreader, then you'll never see it.

Dave sees a lot of spam because of the way he accesses the newsgroup.
Most of us wouldn't know about it if he didn't tell us.

I pay 10 euros/year for news individual net and never see any spam at all.
You can pay in pounds, dollars, any currency and it is easy to do if you go
to their website.
http://www.individual.net/

Worth every penny, IMO.

Just a note to say thanks to all that have recommended news.individual.net.

I signed up for the free trial over the weekend and was very impressed
(having converted from Google Groups - goodness me...) - I've paid my dues
and am now a full member; not a spammer in sight.

Thanks again

Jamie.

absolutely
dire, also imo!

In my very limited experience I have to agree about Google
Groups, they make browsing unnecessarily complex. Newsgroups should
be simple and useful, not as difficult as they make it.

And my word, the spam!
