June 21st - darkest day
As I understand it after the darkest day the days start to get lighter and
we can look forward eventually to Spring and Summer and lovely sunny weather. Can't wait. -- No plan survives contact with the enemy. [Not even bunny] Helmuth von Moltke the Elder (\__/) (='.'=) (")_(") |

Can't wait. Eh? June 21st is the lightest day, but I suppose you are joking. No sign of summer here. Threw it down all day. |

As you say though, no sign of summer. 2013 is going to be a good year, we all hope. Baz |

I think you will find that it is merely the longest day :-( It was as dark as winter yesterday, and the mornings are incredibly gloomy. Monsoon predicted to go on for another couple of weeks. Which should take us up to/past the 21st. -- No plan survives contact with the enemy. [Not even bunny] Helmuth von Moltke the Elder (\__/) (='.'=) (")_(") |

Not just the rain that gets me down, it's the cool, almost cold June. On the other hand the coarse fishing is really good. The predators such as pike and perch are huge this year presumably because the prey are slow and easy to grab. Perch is the most delicious fish, bar none. Sorry to go off topic(again) Baz |

It's flippon' cold. Here in the SE the temp today at 13.00 was 11³C, and is forecast to fall tonight to 5³C. That's like early March. Too cold for my outdoor tomatoes. |
