@newsfe21.iad: Hello Super bunnies have been round and have eaten to near ground level Cabbage, Brussels, cauliflower, my own fault The bad weather has blighted my potatoes and flattened my Runners I am not sure that any remedial action can be taken However, Broad Beans, Onions, Rhubarb, Lettuce, Chinese Cabbage, Potatoes grown in the glass house Have been harvested and eaten Each year is the same win some lose some Can I have one year when all is well ................Leslie I have been growing veg for about 5 years and have always had highs and lows. One year Runners will be a glut and next mediocre. Same with most crops, I think. Good one year and the next very poor. As you say you maybe ought to have covered your brassiccas with netting or wire. Take it on the chin and next year cover them. My chin is bigger than Bruce Forsythe's with all the mistakes I have made :-( I have the start of potato blight too on my Arran Pilot and it is far too wet conditions to do anything about digging them up and destroying them. Just a bad year for veg growing as a home gardener in the UK I think, so don't lose heart. Baz |
