Rose searcg
I have been searching for a hybrid tea rose which my mum had in her garden, for over 25
years, which nobody had any idea of what it was. At last I have found a rose which seems to fit the bill but I cannot locate it in Britain. Does anybody know of a supplier where I can get Tropicana/Superstar. The rose my mum had grew upright to about 5 or 6 feet high, had reddish pointed blooms (but more coral in shade) and a scent so divine, it stopped you in your tracks, whether passing it in the garden or in the vase when cut. The description says fruity and that would seem right, as it wasn't a typical rose scent. It would make my day if I could get one. Thanks, Kath |

Thanks, Kath http://www.classicroses.co.uk/produc...es/super-star/ or http://www.ashridgetrees.co.uk/Super...ybrid-Tea-Rose or a whole list of suppliers here if you scroll down http://www.roselocator.com/rose_loca...super_star.php Looking at those links the description of Super Star does not seem to fit with that of the original post. One even says lightly scented, however, we all know that can be dependant on where a plant is grown. Perhaps this is the one they are after... http://www.naturehills.com/rose-trop...ybrid-tea-rose Not that I can find a seller in the UK but the strange thing is if you put Rosa Tropicana in the RHS plant Finder you get nurseries selling Super Star. Has the name changed? Perhaps the Royal National Rose Society could help track it down seeing as they have given Tropicana awards. -- Regards. Bob Hobden. I believe it is of the family, if that is the right word, but it is Tropicana. The websites I have seen it in have it named "Tropicana/Superstar" and as yet, are all USA based. I would like a British one, as importing is probably forbidden. The OP named it as Tropicana/Superstar, and at least one site I found have the names as alternatives: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/65063/ It may be that Tropicana is the name used in the USA Thanks for the advice, I will take a look.
