Default Good online seed supplier anyone?

Anyone of a supplier that has a large number of varieties of :-

Runner beans
Peas - garden and mange tout
French dwarf beans
Hot chilli peppers

This year I'll be (electric) propagating hot chilli plants. I'll be swapping
them with tomato and cucumber plants grown by other allotmenteers.

I notice the big-name seed merchants charge a lot for postage on the larger
seed varieties.

Any names appreciated - the more the merrier. TIA.

Here are some ....

http://www.marshalls-seeds.co.uk/

http://www.simpsonsseeds.co.uk/

http://www.realseeds.co.uk/

http://www.thomasetty.co.uk/

http://www.tuckers-countrystores.com/seeds/

There are also the normal candidates like T & M and Suttons etc.

If you want a reliable hot chilli for growing in a sunny spot outdoors in
the UK then try to get some "Thai Dragon" if you can find seed. (try Nickys
Nursery)

Thanks Bob that's a great list of onliners. I'll do a seed list pm or
tomorrow and have a price comparison.

The chillies will end up in folks' greenhouses, porch or windowsills. Ta for
the nickys link, that's the largest selection I've ever seen.

I usually aim at mid-range heat varieties, although I may be tempted to try
a Trinidad Scorpion or a Bhut Jolokia :-)

We got our chilli seeds from
http://www.seaspringseeds.co.uk/ who specialise in Chilli but supply
other seeds as well. They developed the (in) famous Dorset Nager.
few a shows mainly around the South/West though today and tomorrow
they are at the RHS Event in London. Also give talks to gardening
clubs which is how we first encountered them.
The nursery is only open to visitors occasionally in the summer but if
you are in striking distance it is a lovely part of Dorset to make a
day out .

Strange that something that hot would grow in a temperate climate.

Thanks I've saved seaspring to favs. I'm not too far away (SE Cornwall) so
I'll look in if I'm in the area.

Couple more to add to the list of on-liners :-

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Premier-Seeds-Direct
Free shipping if 5 items ordered
200+ chilli varieties
Mange tout/sugar snap peas 99p for 350 seeds
200,000 positive feedback in 12 months but most folk will be returning f/b
long time before harvest.
NOT 'big name' seeds like Carters, T&M etc, so buyer beware.

http://www.simplyseed.co.uk/
20+ chilli varieties
Flat one-off payment of £1.25p p+p for seed orders
Mange tout peas £1 - £1.15p for 150 - 200 seeds
Again not 'Big name' seeds.
I see they do Cassablanca and Maris Piper seed potatoes.
I may be interested as they're both floury texture and resistant to
'black-leg' which swept thru' the allotments last June.

I think you will find it needs greenhouse treatment and a long growing
season which is why I like Thai Dragon, it's always reliable and always
produces a decent crop and it's as hot as anyone would want all with a good
flavour.
