No - And to make matters worse they eat chickens and ducks who do eat slugs
and snails ;~| Jay "Paul Richards" wrote in message ... We have an abundance of both in this area so I was just wondering... Sheila |

No - And to make matters worse they eat chickens and ducks who do eat slugs and snails ;~| Err, actually the answer is yes. They do eat both slugs and snails, though among invertebrates, earthworms are eaten much more. -- Malcolm |

Good idea but that "rooster" is owned by some of the benefit systems darlings and the garden is virtually impregnable (what have they got to protect? probably their vast benefit income) |

every night/morning I am informed by someone who has bred chickens for years that if a rooster is housed in a coop which is not high enough to allow him to stretch his neck upwards when he crows, he will not crow. Crowing in the evening might not matter but in the morning . . . . . . ! Have a word with the neighbours. Regards Ron |

Jay We have neither Foxes nor Hens but we do have a lot of frogs and toads which, together, seem to be very effective at removing slugs and snails. So much so that my wife is even managing to grow hostas without difficulty - previously, I have always assumed that anybody with reasonable hostas is a chemical warfare merchant but I am now persuaded that with sufficient 'natural' controls, it is possible to grow hostas (personally, I still find them very boring plants ... :-) -- Larry Stoter |

These would be the neighbours that burn car tyres regularly These would be the neighbours who get fined for not sending their children to school. These would be the neighbours who through their bad behavior force an old couple to sell their house back to the council at a loss and move away. These would be the neighbours who with in weeks of my installing my pond threw a sharp filleting knife in it. These would be the neighbours who in the seven years I have lived here have never taken their Labrador for a walk (it spends all its time chained up outside) These would be the neighbours from hell, talk to them I don't think so. |
