Our neighbour recently had a horse chestnut removed, now we keep
continuously getting growth (suckers) on our side of the fence.
Any ideas on how to kill it off short of excavating my garden to 10ft
and digging out the roots?

Drill a hole in the stump and fill with a proprietry trunk killer.
Dilute with kerosene/paraffin and seal with old grease.

Dave

Second that - drill hole, fill with round up, seal with some putty - voila!
ex stump.

This is not a website forum. When replying to someone else's newsgroup
post, please do not "just put a message in".

Every week, a message appears in uk.rec.gardening called abc for
newcomers, which contains all the info you need on posting, and tells
you what a newsgroup is and how to get the best out of it. If
gardenbanter's webmaster has censored those posts so you don't see them,
ask yourselves why.

Without going to gardenbanter, you can find the full archive of this
group, including the abc post, at www.groups/google. You can also post
messages to the group from there.

Janet.

You're not meant to be writing posts just for yourself to read.

uk.rec.gardening is NOT a forum belonging to a badly designed garden
website. It's a completely independent usenet newsgroup, where there is
a long established expectation that contributors will post in a format
that everyone else can read and follow easily.

So what have we done to deserve the Ogilvie thread? :-)

Nothing. Nobody deserves that nymshifting crossposting troll stalker.

Have to say, I haven't seen any of the OP's, but nymshifting sounds like
fun!? Is it a sport for two? Can children play? Does it involve
vegetables?

Quote enough of the thread so that people reading your post realise just
what is being discussed, as I have snipped your post.
