Default Grubs

Hi
Anyone help/advise please
Having a very small open soil garden, I have to grow mainly in pots.

For approx three yrs had some Asiatic lily's in a lge tub which have
multiplied over the yrs,
today thought I'd put them in a small piece of the garden in a corner.

On tipping them out and freeing them from the soil in the tub I found couple
dozen tiny(5mm)
white with light brown head grubs(maggot like) ,only the odd bulb had small
hole in-2-3mm
deep.
Washed the bulbs to make sure no more grubs/got rid of all I found.
Q,any ideas what they might be,is any treatment needed to soil where
planted.
Many thanks.

Sound like vine weevil. Take a look here to confirm
http://www.vine.weevil.org.uk/ That site also gives advice on how to deal
with them.

Hi Janice
Thanks for that ,I think your spot on.
Had a good read about the buggers (all female eh! ) ,have got some Provado Vine Weevil
Killer
that I got when I first put up my greenhose lean-to,so will give them some of that to
drink,
other plants in pots in greenhouse too.
Many thanks.
