I grow Matucana with mine (not tub-grown), and think it looks great. Painted lady is also a variety of runner bean by the way. It has red and white flowers - v pretty. Victoria |

Sweet peas with Runner beans
I would like to thank those of you who have recommended Sweet pea
varieties to go with my Runner beans. I have bought both the bean and 'Matucana' Sweet pea seeds, the manager at my local garden centre agreed with Nick Maclaren's choice and talked me into buying a very, very large pack of JAB's 'Growmore'! He said that it it is an essential plant food for the runners and sweet peas. I live in hope! Mike Crossland |
