Moles eat mainly worms - a nursing mother will eat its own weight in
worms in one day.
I would rather have the worms in the soil than the moles!!!!!!!!!!!

I have consulted the WWW used some of there alleged remedies, not one of
them worked, a waste of time. Anyone out there got a sure fired way of
getting rid of 'em?

If you can *see* the mole, i.e. when it is digging, a short tap on the snout
with a well-aimed boot or shovel will quickly despatch the creature. The
nose is very sensitive and such a blow will kill almost instantly IIRC.

Either that or windmills/mothballs/garlic/shotgun as tried by Jasper
Carrott.

In a smallish area I've heard of people stopping up all mole hills bar one,
sticking a hose from the car exhaust down that one and leaving the engine
running for an hour.

Revolving typist's chair, a decent torch and a 12 gauge shotgun is by far
the most effective.

It's also the most entertaining ;-)

A revolving typist is an interesting concept :-)

Very entertaining for the onlookers but doesn't get rid of moles.

I can assure you that if you employ the Jasper Carrot method of mole
control, a large dose of well placed Eley Hymax BB is fairly terminal.

You are now giving advice! " But this is a place for discussion, not an
advice bureau. ". I know that you are so full of pain that the only way
you can relate to ppeople is by dishing out torture. Now it appears you
are inconsistent to the point of pants on fire!

I am told that I can no longer kill moles by using the usual poison. In
fact to do so one has to have a special licence. The Queen for instance is
allowed to poison the little sons of *******.

I should be very surprised indeed if the Queen, in person, has
acquired a poisons-licence for mole-killing by strychnine. No doubt she
employs a molecatcher who has such a licence for use in country estates,
golfcourses etc. AFAIK the use of strychnine-baits by licensed persons
is no longer permitted in domestic gardens in case ignorant dogs or very
hungry children attempt to eat the worms, or dead moles, so if you
employ a mole catcher he'll use traps.

I would refer the Rt Hon member to the paper by Mr Carrot that suggests
his method was less than satisfactory :-)
