Chestnut problem
Two years ago we had our two 25 year old chestnut trees trimmed as
they were getting a bit too big for our small Dutch garden. Since then there have been no more flowers and no more conkers. Is that the end of conkers or will they start producing again eventually? |

We had a Horse Chestnut that became mutilated during a storm and then spent years making new growth rather than flowers. About five years if I remember correctly. This is unusual because stress can often cause a reluctant tree to flower and fruit. Don't forget that the Germans hold the world championship for conkers this year. They probably cheated!!
