jerusalem artichokes are fine.

*but horrible!*

Loganberries, gooseberries, alpine strawberries, rhubarb are untroubled
by slugs and expensive or impossible to buy.

Slugs eat my rhubarb. Luckily it grows faster than they can eat! And OK,
slugs don't eat it, but gooseberry sawfly can be a real git.

Slugs don't like pumpkins, except when very young and tender (and then only
the stems for some weird reason, not the leaves.)
