Default nice rose to cover an arch- suggestions please!

I have an arch in my garden which currently has two roses growing up it not sure which), but I am considering replacing them due to the fact they aren't covering the arch very well (and they keep getting blackspot, and lack in leaves!) They don't twine very well, so as a result , just look like two pillars of blooms either side!
Can anyone recommend a rose that will twine and cover nicely, without the blooms sticking upright like stalks? Would a rambler be better? I would prefer one not too thorny, as we pass through it, and a blackspot resistant one!

Many thanks for any help!
