Thus spake Carol Russell unto the assembled multitudes:
Just as the subject line say's what is composted bark and is composted wood
chip just as good?

I think composted bark is the composted waste from the logging process,
where the bark is stripped off the felled tree trunks before the wood is
processed. Woodchip would be OK as a decorative mulch or weed
suppressant, but not as a soil conditioner. Bark isn't as dense and I
would expect it to break down faster and therefore be quicker to compost.
It would take ages to compost woodchip, surely.

Bark is more nutritious, allegedly, for the soil. See
Melcourt's website....

www.melcourt.co.uk

...it breaks down faster than woodchip and is used primarily
as a soil conditioner rather than a mulch, although there's nowt to
stop you using it as a mulch if you're that way inclined.
