Default Street tree in Cyprus

There was one with plane-like leaves, apparently small (1.5 cm),
whitish bell flowers (a bit high up), pods 4"x1.5" with two rows
of large, yellow, yellow staining seeds surrounded by obnoxious
hairs (not attached). Any idea of what it might be?

Regards,
Nick Maclaren.
