What berries are these?
This shrub is growing in Sydney in the ex garden of a fellow that
liked to grow bush tucker. http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~richwr...iesCloseup.jpg http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~richwrig/berries.jpg The berries are about the size of elderberries and have a sweet, slightly aromatic taste. Can't find them in Cribb or Low. |

Could it be a midgenberry? Said to be tastier than a blueberry, and grows on a low bush no taller than about 1 metre. -- John Savage (my news address is not valid for email) |

The correct suggestion came by email. The plant is Polyscias sambucifolia (Elderberry Panax). It is widespread occurring in forests and sheltered gullies down the east coast and round into Victoria. |

Yum elderberry wine I don't think so! Not related to elderberry and with something in the juice that burns the back of the throat. |
