Default [IBC] Fukien Tea Losing Leaves Suddenly

My Fukien tea, which I just recently rescued from mealy bugs
using Carl's
soap solution (thanks loads), has now suddenly began to lose

leaves. A
large majority of the leaves have begun to turn dark green to

black around
their edges, they are drying up and beginning to fall off.

There is still
plenty of new growth, but I'm afraid something is seriously

wrong for so
many leaves to be sick. Any ideas?

=============

I don't know about Fukian tea, but some plants do not like the
soap solutions. Never use soap on a trident maple, for instance,
and be very careful with other maples. The symptoms are similar.

Default [IBC] Fukien Tea Losing Leaves Suddenly

Fukien Teas tend to develop a fungus from the "dew" of the pests that
attack them. I usually remove all the leaves that even have a speck of
dark color on them. They are strong growers and will come back. I
have, in the past, removed all leaves, cut back on the watering and
placed them in a plastic container my ICU (or a plastic bag) , and they
have fully leaved out. They are a picky tree, but a tough one.

I have never seen the Fukien Tea affected from the soap solution.

Best regards,
