My Chestnut is Poorly
Hello
My chestnut - indoor - is ten years old, started from seed, and until this year has been very happy in a round pot about 14" in diameter and about 1" deep. It lives on a south-facing window sill well away from radiators. Until now its couour has been good and its leaves have been reducing nicely. This spring, immediately it began to leaf out, the tips of the leaves began to turn brown. Oh, well, I thought, perhaps it needs more water. No luck. Oh, well, I thought perhaps it need a bit less water. No luck. Throughout the summer I tried adjusting water - more then less then more - but nothing changed. It would continue to sprout lovely green leaves and within a week their tips would turn brown and they would gradually become brown all over. They never dropped off, they just hung around looking horrible. My only remaining option seemed to be repotting it in a deeper pot. I did this about two weeks ago - into a pot about 3" deep along with a full leaf pruning (in the past, it has tolerated full leaf prunings very well, with a lovely full set of leaves following every time). Now it just sits on its window sill looking very sad. I can see no little green buds anywhere and bark on all its branches and trunk seems to be shrivelling. What can I do? Please help me.
