Default [IBC] Bonsai Techniques

for, those in the area who may be interested, Haslam's Book store in St. Petersburg Florida has a signed first edition hardback boxed copy of Naka's Bonsai Techniques (#1). It appears to be in good condition. Price $145.50 which doesn't seem TOO bad to me.

Also "Bonsai with Ameircan Trees" Kan Yashorida's (sp) book, and Beheme's "Bonsai, Bokkei & Saikei." All if I recall, at least American first editions. Yashorida's was $19.95. I almost bought it, but then thought I might have it (I know I have a 66-year-old's seive-like memory), so it's still there. It is an excellent early book by one of the old-time instructors at BBG.

Just FYI. I bought David Prescott's Pocket Bonsai, a new beginner's book. It's excellent and may supplant Sunset's Bonsai as the best beginners' book -- though Sunset is likely to stay in print longer. $14.95. 9.99 pounds sterling.

Jim Lewis - - Tallahassee, FL, but writing from St. Pete beach Florida on a warm, clear evening where we just got though watching a large manatee swim by our kids' dock.

Thanks Jim,
I will probably be in the area next week. So, I will have to stop by
the bookstore and take a look at what they have available.

Hope you are enjoying St. Pete. We were over last weekend, and I was
suprised to see some minor hurricane damage even over there. It looks
only the northeast part of Florida was spared from hurricanes this
year.
