Default garlic as bug repellent?

Hi All,

I have a little organic garden. I am scared to death
of squash bugs.

What do you guys think of planting garlic to keep the little
buggers away?

How close to the squash do they have to be?

And, will any old garlic do (I don't plan to eat the
garlic)?

Try a bird bath, and a feeder near, or in your garden, after the plants
have established themselves.

Hmmmm. I have got quail out the nose. I wonder if I
should set of feed for them.

But be sure the bird bath and feeder are not accessibld to cats!

Hi Higgs,

No problem. We have a plethora of public minded
servants around these parts that remove any stray cats
almost immediately. We don't even have to call for them.
They just arrive whenever needed. Clean up after
themselves too. And, they are kind cute. We refer
to them as "coyotes". :-)

If you don't have any coyotes, cats hate cayenne
pepper. Get it on their paw, stick their paw in the
mount, make delightful funny screaming noise, run
like hell, never come back. (Tofu is God's punishment
to humans for domesticating cats: colorless, odorless,
tasteless gelatinous goo that sits in your stomach,
rots, and give you gas.)
