Default paphiopedilum seedling?

I purchased a paphiopedilum from a supermarket I now but I couldn't
resist, you no once you start you cant stop & at a reduced price of £5.00
bargain!I noticed it had a seedling in the pot, does this type of orchid self
seed or have I a seedling of something else.it looks like a orchid seedling
as it has put down fine roots but as you can see in the photo it has started
to grow more of a aerial root?
thanks keith

Weed. It is a dicot. Not an orchid. Sorry. To the other question,
orchids do self seed sometimes. It isn't a common occurance. Before
science caught up to orchids, growers would attempt to germinate orchid
seeds at the base of established plants. And they must have been at
least somewhat successful, or we wouldn't have had any hybrids before
the advent of orchid flasking. Now we grow 99.999999999% of orchid seed
in flasks.

P.S. This is not a binaries newsgroup. Please post pics to
alt.binaries.pictures.orchids.
Don't worry, we all do it by mistake once in a while, since the names of the
posters on both groups are almost identical. :-)

There are many usenet server's that have limited storage space, and
thus choose not to carry the binary newsgroups because the volume of
their content can exceed that of text newsgroups by a factor of 10.
Since usenet's inception binaries have been relegated to the binary
newsgroups exclusively. Many (competently administered) news servers
filter-out inappropriate binary posts to text only newsgroups.

For more information about accepted usenet policies, please read the
articles posted in the news.announce.newusers newsgroup or he
