Cymbidium Mericlone
Dear All, as a self confessed killer of all plants (aren't all 24 yr olds?), I was both delighted and shocked to receive an orchid as a gift.
I would very much appreciate a few tips on how to look after said plant as nothing came with it. |

rayanne1664,
"Culture sheets" are always a good way to start when looking for basic information like temperature, light, water, etc. Since you indicated that your orchid is a Cymbidium, below are some links to Cymbidium culture sheets. Best, Joanna American Orchid Society (AOS) Cymbidium Culture Sheets Basic Cymbidium Cultu http://www.orchidweb.org/orchids/cul.../cymbidium.pdf Intermediate Cymbidium Cultu (for a little more info) http://www.orchidweb.org/orchids/culture/cymbidium2.pdf Culture Information from the Cymbidium Society of America: http://www.cymbidium.org/cymbidium1.html Since your email address indicates that you are from the UK, here are a couple UK sites as well: http://www.mcbeansorchids.co.uk/growing_cymbidium.htm http://www.orchid.org.uk/index.htm (This site won't let one link to the exact page, the site is called "All About Orchids") http://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profiles0101/orchids.asp Royal Horticultural Society http://www.orchid-society-gb.com Orchid Society of Great Britain http://www.orchid-society-gb.com/beginners_guide.htm Beginners Guide to Orchids by the "Orchid Society of Great Britain" http://www.orchid-society-gb.com/local_societies.htm Local Orchid Societies in Great Britain Some other non-AOS non-UK Cymbidium Culture Sheets: (may or may not contain the same or different information as the above) http://www.orchidweb.com/cymcare.htm http://www.orquideas.com/growing/cymbcult.html http://retirees.uwaterloo.ca/~jerry/...notes/cym.html http://members.iinet.net.au/~ezi-gro/cymculture.htm http://www.darkfallsorchids.com/cymbidiumculture.html http://members.aol.com/rockyzun2002/...um_culture.htm "rayanne1664" wrote in message s.com...
