Default Netting for fall.. what to look for at Lowe's?

I need to net the pond, and want to know where a Lowe's or Home Depot to
look, and what to buy.

Ok, I'll look for that. Any idea what section of the store it's in?

Kind of depends on what you're netting for. If you have lots of leaves, and
they're of the maple tree shape, jagged tooth edges, you might want to
consider something finer, like window screen. (See my website as to how I
use it, under my pond photos, page 1.)

If for predator control, look in the garden section, it is used to keep
birds off off fruit trees. ~ jan

I'm using it to filter leaves, and have lots of poplar here. The main
problem might be those little "helicopter" seeds.

Those little "helicopter" seeds will still fall through the bird netting. I
know cause we always get tons of those things from a tree that is 2 houses down
from us.

Better plan on getting the window screening like Jan advises.
My pond has been
netted for 8 or 9 years and I always get lots of the smaller leaves on the
bottom
of the pond. Then have to be cleaned out in the spring... a hassle.
One year I bought tons of the black bridal veiling at Walmart and made
a huge net for the pond. It only lasted that one year.... but it did catch
everything.
In fact, now that you'all have mentioned it... I think I'll buy some this
coming week
and get the pond done right - for a change.

Regualr poulty netting I have works fine for odds and ends I cover,
mainly chicken yard and runs, but my pond is too largwe to cover
economically. LAst week when we had remnants of Hur. Frances blow
through, it was raining pine straw and lots of other stuff, so I used
some green nylon netting which was abut like window screen mesh size,
that the wife gets at work for free and drags home, and made a cover
out of it. I thought it would be sufficient, but those long leaf pine
needles wind up going though the screen, and since they are in clumps
of three needles to a clump it looks like a pin cushion on the bottom
side whenm they meet the juncture of the three needles that stops
them.

Just bought 3 rolls for $5 each, next to the landscape fabric and
deer netting in the far back corner of the garden dept.

Thanks, Mike.. I'll look at it, and see if it looks fine enough to trap our
fall "color"
