Mile End Nurseries
I've been asked by the people at Pillnitz if we know of the Mile End
Nurseries in London. I can't find any mention of them but wonder if anyone else knew of them? The manager of the Pillnitz garden says that this famous Camellia very probably came from a tree nursery near London called Mile End. Apparently, a gardener from that nursery became a gardener to the Queen of Naples. -- Sacha www.hillhousenursery.co.uk South Devon (remove the weeds to email me) |

Yes, I looked at that and thank you. But while it's possible that Cants went over entirely to rose-growing, the nursery he asked about was called the Mile End Nursery, apparently. I could email Cants and ask them, so I'll probably do that. -- Sacha www.hillhousenursery.co.uk South Devon (remove the weeds to email me) |
