autumn raspberries
Should these be showing signs of life yet? My summer fruiting ones are
growing nicely but no real sign of any life in eh autumn fruiting ones. They just look like dead sticks - are they maybe dead sticks? TIA, -- Hayley (gardening on well drained, alkaline clay in Somerset) |

Autumn fruiting raspberries fruit on new growth, summer ones on old. So
the Autumn ones should be cut down and new growth will come from the base. I would leave the old canes there as markers until the new canes are growing, then cut them down. Mike |
