Lets see it this way: if this continues, southerners are inches away
from having the hose pipe ban removed.

I bet wind and rain like this is common in the North of the UK, but only
gets noticed (like snow) when it affects soft Southerners! ;-)

) Oh yes and there's nothing you can do about it so I try to enjoy
it. It's bracing and make a nice change to the warmish, wettish, fetid
weather we've been having. And today, I levitated! I was taken up by
the wind forward to about 1m. At one point I couldn't make a corner and
once I managed to put my back against the wall, my legs kept being
flunged side ways. I laughed ))

I read the other day that the UK gets more tornadoes than anywhere
else on earth (I think that there was some rider on that though, like
for it's size???)

Mike I think you will find that the biggest do form quite sizeable
'funnels' even here, although I doubt whether they could get as big as
those in the US. However, in the light of events in recent years, it
does appear that the size and ferocity of UK tornadoes is increasing.

You're scaring me now, Dave! I'd always found this country rather
restful . . .
