Default Whens The Best Time To Divide Hakonechloa macra

Hi,

I have a Hakonechloa macra wich is now into its 3rd season and is doing quite well, I was looking at the BBC web site and it says divide "March To March"

http://www.bbc.co.uk/gardening/plant...ages/361.shtml

Does that mean only in March? should the plant have any growth before divideing or divide it before any growth starts? or is the 3rd season a bit to early to start cutting the plant about?

Thanks
