The message from "'Mike'" contains these words:

My sympathies lie with the farmers :-(

Poor, poor, poor, poor farmers !!!!

Again

Oh, they'll soon make a financial recovery if, as has been suggested,
they treble the acreage of rape, from which to produce biofuel.

They won't be too worried about all the poor sods (myself included)
who suffer horrendous hay-fever as a result...

So, why should I feel sorry for them now...?

My point!!

Do you know a 'poor' farmer?

They will just have to keep their Land Rover for two years instead of
changing it each year :-((

And possibly cut down on their cruising a bit :-((

(We had farmers on our table on the World Cruise. 'Frequent cruisers' they
were)

I have no sympathy for the farmers at all. They have cried Wolf too long.
If farming was as bad as the say, they would get out. "If you don't like
the heat of the Kitchen .................."

Mike

What a load of ********, which world do you live in?

I take it by that outburst you actually 'know' a poor farmer? I trust you
have had his entry made in the Guinness Book of Records as a first?

Kind regards

I know several. They can't sell or give up because they don't know what else
to do - and nobody would want to buy after this. There's no compensation,
it's worse than F&M.

They will just have to keep their Land Rover for two years instead of
changing it each year :-((

.. that's just silly. Not all farmers have Land Rovers. My daughter doesn't.

And possibly cut down on their cruising a bit :-((

That's not even worth answering.

(We had farmers on our table on the World Cruise. 'Frequent cruisers'

You can afford a World Cruise. Say no more.

I have no sympathy for the farmers at all. They have cried Wolf too long.
If farming was as bad as the say, they would get out. "If you don't like

How can you?

Like some sailors, some farmers are rich. Not all are. Farmers are among the
most frequent suicidals, they're having a very hard time without floods.

Do you understand the word diversification?

I am advising a company at this very moment on just such a thing. No not
farming, but many farmers HAVE diversified. Standing still in ANY business
is going backwards. The company I am advising is moving into new markets, so
have many farmers. THEY are the ones running new Range Rovers, having World
Cruises. Perhaps your farmer friends should take note that they have two
ears and only one mouth. Use them in the same proportion.

Kindest regards

Mike

The message from Stan The Man contains these words:

Some parts of GQT are topical. I have been involved with GQT recordings
which were broadcast three days later. As for the weather, let's not
forget that a) there have been one or two nice days in the
south/midlands in the last couple of weeks; and b) the torrential rain
hasn't fallen across the whole country: I have friends in Scotland, the
North-East and the South-East coast who claim to have had relatively
little rainfall.

Well, Perth is half-way between the North-East and the South-East,
and we've certainly had plenty of rain here! Every bloody day...!

I meant the North-East and South-East of England.

Well, that wasn't what you said...!

Depends on your perspective I suppose. I would imagine that most people
in England would take it to mean the NE and SE of England. Residents of
Scotland might interpret it differently it seems but I have now cleared
that up with your valued help. Grammatically, had I meant the NE and SE
of Scotland I would have inserted a comma after 'coast' or a dash after
'Scotland' and again after 'coast' (or better still, parentheses).

Your email program added the attribution "Robert ...... wrote". It was a
