Default The good side and the bad ...

The good side of being in the front garden - the couple who came past
and talked about our frogs, and who had bought a euphorbia as a result
of seeing mine

and the bad ... finding someone has stolen the bird feeder.
Irrationally, I would not have expected someone who liked feeding the
birds to be the same sort of person who would steal out of someone's
garden.

I doubt it was a bird lover, more likley to be someone who saw
something that would sell easily at a car boot sale or on Ebay.

Hardly! It cost me about £2 (special offer), and it'd need to be cleaned
before you could sell it. So no good for car boot, and hardly worth it
for ebay.

Are you sure it hasn't been pinched by a squirrel? We have had that
happening and eventually found the (empty!) feeder some way off. I think
they take them off to a specialist safe breaker.

Shame on them, Kay.
It may be they don't like feeding birds but they do like selling
things at car-boot sales. A friend had some things stolen from her
garden, including an almost new, expensive staddle stone, and the
police said that's where they would probably end up.

The Police weren't very well informed on the 'latest' theft of 'hot objects'
then. There is a black market trade in Architectural Antiques such as this.
As my Daughter and Son in Law know to their cost from when the had the Manor
House as an Hotel.

What, the "Manor House" pub in Lake Mike?? Always thought that looked rather
run down with not a lot worth nicking.

Kind regards

Very true, only took tham a day at my place from working out how to
disconnect it, to moving to the full blown theft solution. Never seen it
since.
