The 4 feet wide is spot on as you can reach to the middle without stepping
on the bed. As for length, I don't suppose it matters, except for walking
from one side to the other. Long walk if they are 50 feet long :-(

Ours are about 8 feet because of where they fit in.

If you make them any longer, walking round them could be debillitating!

I agree. We have two raised beds that are a bit bigger - 3 metres by
1.5 metres - and that is probably just a bit too big when you are
working on them.
How high will they be? They are going to need a lot of topsoil/compost
to fill them.

Mine are and it is but I'm loth to sacrifice the space to make gaps.

Me thinks the speakers are set too high. It is going over some people's
heads!

You would only need a couple of 12" x 12" paving slabs to drop into a 'spare
space' and you have your stepping stones which could be removed or moved
elsewhere as and when required.

Judging by the standard of the comedy I have seen on TV, when I do watch TV,
I should keep quiet about that if I were you.

Mike - please change your 'sig' settings - you're looking like such a
newbie!!!

You're not using a sig file so please untick the 'add a signature to all
outgoing messages' on OE.

On that basis, why don't you keep quiet about gardening?

Are you really a comedy scriptwriter? If so, that is fascinating.

Well, I enjoyed that one-liner.
