Hi Matcal,
Your image is not available! Forums to not support images, the way to do this is to upload your images to a popular image site, for example picasaweb which is part of googlemail, you can then paste into the thread the link to your image. then readers can click the link and see the image. see the link I have below as an example.

Good luck

this is the first year that it has flowered, as you can see from the
images the stems of the flower reach quite a length 4-5 ft! the overall
hight of this plant is not 10-12 ft including the flowering parts.

I used to like it but has now taken over so much of our garden that all
I want to do is remove it! but it is so tough I don't really know where
to start tackling it!

If someone could identify it and let me know how deep the root might
be, and give me advice on removal, I would appreciate it. Also, does it
have any value to anybody out there? would it survive being dug up?

Phormium tenax, New Zealand Flax.
Luckily I have never had to remove one but I understand it is a plant for
those that don't intend to stay around long as I've heard it's roots are
like iron and the plant is rather difficult to remove once established, as
your's is.
Good luck.

Is that link correct? I can't raise it. It isn't underlined, which usually
means somethings wrong .. or perhaps it's just me.

It's not a link. It is just the name of a bitmap and of little use as
there is no reference to where the bitmap can be seen.

It's not in a usable form (it's not a URL). If he were to use
GardenBanter correctly, his file gets uploaded to their server, and an
URL provided.
