Default Iris Cowboy in Black

I've recently seen a photo of a wonderful US Iris called Cowboy in
Black. I can't find a supplier in UK and Cayeux Iris don't have it.
Does anyone happen to know of a UK supplier? I've just had a lovely
time on the Cayeux Iris page, though! I've bought
1 x DEVONSHIRE CREAM
1 x WILLIAMETTE MIST
1 x CABLE CAR
1 x PISTE NOIRE
1 x JOY DE ROHAN CHABOT

thought it was a cocktail recipe! Then I got to Cable Car, and said:

Mixing up cocktails while doing a little light weeding? I think not! ;-)

You're right. I'm now feeding an addiction! When I told him this last
night, there was a kind of martyred sigh & a "where are you going to
PUT them?" Just makes me more determined!

I've pointed out to Himself, that the more lawn I convert to flower
beds, the less mowing he has to do. (The big problem from his point of
view, is that I make curvy beds, not straight ones.)

Lol! The eternal dilemma of the male mind versus the female. Before I
knew Ray, I used to buy plants because I just had to have them, then
wander around hunting for a place to put them. The chap who used to do
my garden once a week told me he was glad I didn't have a house with a
flat roof!!

I don't have a flat roof, but I'm acquiring a major collection of large

Do remember Jenny in Rotterdam's flat roof garden?

She has/had her flat roof covered in plants some in a greenhouse on the
roof http://www.ljconline.nl/garden/indexgarden.htm

Say, that brings it back. We haven't heard from her for a long time, it
seems.

Martin, it seems likely I'm spending a WE in Rotterdam in Feb, I'm
attending a grafting workshop in Boskoop. Any suggestions for gardens
(Trompenburg is the obvious one I suppose) or other sites to see in the
area? The workshop is a Saturday, we'll have Friday and Saturday
evening, along with some time Sunday morning, free.

Thanks,

-E

Yes, I've seen lots that are mouthwatering and the same goes for
Camellias. The American Camellia Society (think that's the right name)
have loads of enthusiasts who breed great varieties that don't make it
over here! It's probably not commercially viable but I'm almost tempted
to beg someone to bring some cuttings over in their spongebag and send
them to us! Mind you, to listen to Ray's comments on Camellia cuttings
atm, it wouldn't be a popular move this end! He has several of the
fishtail Camellia that he's hoping will strike but while they look
totally healthy, there's no sign of a root!

She gave up urg forever after the great flame war. All those involved
were plonked by her including me. I'm not sure if she is still in R'dam.
She was trying to sell her house and move to France. The last I heard
she had cleared the flat roof, because she thought her roof top garden
was putting off potential buyers.

Oh right, I do remember that. I've mostly managed to put those days on
urg out of mind...

If it is at the end of February then the Keukenhof is an obvious place
to visit. Maybe too far for a Sunday morning?

You're right, it would be too far. Anyway they don't open until 23/3
according to the site. Thanks though.
