I considered that. :-)

I had enough trouble subscribing to one group without complicating matters.
Next time she can do it herself.

Try getting Ray to post here and you'll know what I am going through

Tonight, I suggested to him that he write down a few of his 'thoughts'
on the computer. He's out of sight and as far as I know, still
running! ;-) Not a prayer, is the answer!

Have you only just discovered that, Sacha? We must have been very good
at concealing it from you all this time :-)

Not at all, it's just that my innate good manners prevent me from

Out of sight out of (his) mind :-)

He's resolute in having nothing to do with computers. He has learned
how to scroll up and down to read a page but can do absolutely no more
than that. He seems to get along quite happily without it!

I think so. Matthew uses his computer for wages, accounts, labelling
etc and some correspondence. And I use mine for fielding enquiries and
correspondence about that.

Hmmmm. He's having a bit of a love/hate with the new one at present!
He likes the backlit screen but finds the whole ordering and accessing

to it though!

I've never ordered via a Kindle. I preferred the old Kindle's physical
switches
for turning pages to the current touch screen. There are some improvements to
the software, but I could have lived without them. At least the spooky dead
authors screen saver has gone.

Lol! The 'spooky dead authors' have never occurred to me. Thanks for
that fragrant thought! I have the old style Kindle and think the
physical switches are probably easier to use if you're awake at 4am and
wanting to read without moving your hand and disturbing your partner!
I'm quite surprised they got rid of those as they were just so easy to
use.

I know nothing about Kindle but the wife has a Kobo as both she and it
are Canadian and if she has a problem with it she gets to have a long
chat with a fellow Canadian and it's Toll free, a big perk as far as she
is concerned.

The next generation of Kindle is going back to using physical switches.

Really?! Then I'll be holding on for one of those! It sounds very
wimpish but if you're lying on your side to read in the small hours,
it's so much simpler to do one click with a thumb onto the next page.
Swiping across the screen just isn't as easy. I often read Kindle books
on my iPad and wouldn't be without it but it's an entirely different
and more cumbersome process for bed time reading!

I _could_ swipe to turn pages on my Kindle Fire HD (last year's model),
but just touching the side of the screen works.

With a Kindle Paper White you don't need to swipe the page. Just touching it on
the right or left side is sufficient to turn/change page.

I'll have to go and have a play with Ray's new Kindle. And I hope he's
discovered that for himself!
