I'ne noticed in recent weeks that some of my clumps of Tête Tête, which
were planted about 16 months ago have surfaced showing much broader leaves,
more resembling a hyacinth. There are others planted the same time which
show the normal type of narcissi leaf. Other than that both types are
developing healthily with flower buds coming on.

Walking about and looking at people's front gardens I've seen quite a lot of
this phenomenon of late. Anyone else noticed this?

The bulbs you first planted are well established, have grown bigger,
and have enough stores to produce full size leaves.

By now they have produced smaller offset bulbs underground, and the
smaller bulbs produce narrower leaves. When the baby bulbs get bigger
they will have bigger leaves. One original bulb becomes a clump of them.

Tete a tetes increase well. Eventually ( 5 years +) the clumps will be
so dense and congested you'll see the leaves getting smaller again, then
it's time to lift the clump ( when the flowers have faded, but leaves
still green) divide it up and replant.
