FWIW don't leave your half-standard rose with full leaf and flowers out in
a high wind :-(

Oh dear :~(. You have my sympathy. It's never happened to me, but it
has to a friend. It can also happen to Agapanthus (it's *meant* to
happen once the seeds are ripe, so the decapitated head can 'cartwheel'
and spread the seeds), but it's galling when it happens to a beautiful
flower head.

or try to fold it to get it in a car as one of or customers did at the nursery where I worked years ago.
