Many will grow well but flower badly. Ivies are the best for deep shade, but most seriously hardy climbers are OK in light shade. Regards, Nick Maclaren. |

Provided your not in a really cold place, Parthenocissus henryana is very colourfull all season and especially good in shade. Lonicera periclymenum and all its forms will also do well in semi shade. -- Charlie, gardening in Cornwall. http://www.roselandhouse.co.uk Holders of National Plant Collection of Clematis viticella (cvs) |
