Help with clematis ID
Morning all
In a VERY sheltered area right next to the house, I have a summer-flowering clematis still covered in buds. Of course it's not labelled. : ( Large-flowered, the white buds have very definite green stripes up the centre of the petals - most easily visible on the underside. As the flower opens, the green colour fades a bit and the flower is almost completely white on the upper surface of the petals. Then as it matures it becomes a very pale pink. People who lived here before were not great plant lovers so I would think it's probably a "garden centre special", most likely sold as a "climbing plants pair" with the honeysuckle (labelled, naturally!) growing next to it. Any ideas? Heather -- Spamtrap in operation. To reply to me direct put out the bins. To save yourself the trouble, reply to the Group. |
