Default My slugs are nuts

Ok, strange one here.

My slugs are ignoring the lettuce and instead eating the spinach.

Are my slugs just nuts? Could it be the nettle fertilizer has sent
them around the bend? Are they high on lager-fumes?

You watch too many Popeye films and they can see through the window.

Definitely not Heineken, I've been giving them Stella.

You don't say where you put the nettle juice, hopefully you didn't try
to make lager from it. If it is of any relevance at all, when we had
goats, they would eat pretty well any green-stuff except lettuce. They
would look at us mournfully and say "Lettuce have something else" I was
told that lettuce contained too little fibre for them. Almost any other
plant was fair game if they ever broke loose.

Poor things!

Your slugs will soon have nuts if you feed them on that

If this is really such a worry for you then try growing a different variety
of lettuce

You need an awful lot of spinach to make a meal, I'd let them get on
with the spinach and be glad they aren't interested in lettuce.

How considerate of them. Would they like some salt with it?
I once attempted to distract them on an allottemt by using cress to feed
them. At first it didn't work. And then it did... but by that stage there
wasn't much else left for them )-:

Ha Ha! That conjures up a wonderful image of angry tattooed slugs waving St
George flags & beating up the snails!
